The whole frame, moved

Transform treats the image as one flat plane and moves it in space: position, scale, rotation, and a projective corner-pin that tilts it into perspective. It is the effect you reach for to place a picture on a surface or to tip it into a three-dimensional angle.

What happens at the edges

Once the picture moves, its edges leave a gap or cut into the frame. Transparent leaves the gap empty. Mirror reflects the picture back into the gap. Clamp repeats the outermost pixels, which keeps a colour continuous at the seam.
