Symmetry from one piece of the picture

The image is cut into angular segments around a centre, and each segment is mirrored into the next. A small patch of the picture becomes a full, symmetrical design, and the centre can be moved to choose which patch you see.

Three ways to build it

Mirror reflects each segment into the next, which keeps the picture recognisable as a mirror image. Kaleido makes the full kaleidoscope, with the segments rotated as well as reflected. Tile repeats the segment without reflecting it, a pattern rather than a mirror.
