Light through moving water

Caustics are the bright, rippling nets of light a swimming pool throws onto its floor. The effect lays that web over the picture and wobbles it, with thin rainbow fringes at the bright lines the way a real refraction splits colour.

What drives the flow

Flow sets what moves the light. Wind sends it drifting in one direction, as a breeze would. Centre makes it ripple out from the middle. Depth lets the picture's distance shape the flow, so the near and far parts move differently.
