Inversion turns light into dark and dark into light. Run it on every channel and you get a negative. Run it on one channel and you get a colour shift that is hard to reach any other way.

The strength control blends the inverted result back into the original, so a partial invert is a gentle change rather than an all-or-nothing flip.
