Fluid, not blur

The effect follows a direction field, the way a current carries dye, and the colour lags behind where it sits. The result is fluid and continuous, unlike a plain blur, which softens everything the same amount.

Three currents

Curl makes swirling, incompressible flow, the kind of motion water has. Radial pushes the colour out from the centre, like a burst. Vortex turns it round a centre, like a drain.

Every option, from the app

Generated from the registry the app publishes, so this list is whatever the current build actually ships — not a copy of it.

  • Reaction–DiffusionA Gray–Scott reaction–diffusion simulation seeded by your image, with curated feed/kill presets for spots, stripes, worms, mitosis, coral and chaos.
  • Long ExposureLight trails and motion piled onto a still, the way a long shutter records what moved.
  • Domain WarpIrreducible, marbled, organic distortion: the picture pushed through layers of noise.
