A mesh built from the depth

The depth map becomes a mesh of lines and faces, lifted into space. Looking at the picture as a mesh shows its structure: where the surfaces fold, and where they are flat.

Facets, wire, or both

Facets fills the faces. Wire draws only the lines. Both shows the lines over the faces. Facets and Both can take the image as their fill or a single mono colour, and what sits behind the mesh is black, the image, or a colour.

  • Normal MapShow the direction each surface faces as colour, the way a 3D artist reads a bump.
  • Point CloudEvery pixel lifted into real 3D space by inferred depth and rendered as billboarded splats with true depth-buffer occlusion — six displacement fields, four materials, three environments, and a field channel another effect can drive.
  • Z-DepthShow the front-to-back depth map itself, as false colour, contour lines or a displacement.
