The error in the broadcast

Horizontal bands of the picture slip sideways, each channel tearing a little differently, with the occasional rare sync tear and rows of bright noise. It is the look of a picture that is out of sync with itself.

Four ways to break

Slip moves the bands sideways in a steady, even slide. Tracking is the wobble of a tape that has lost its track. Sync Roll rolls the whole picture up or down, the way a TV rolls when it loses sync. Block Slip shifts rectangular blocks instead of full-width bands.
