Lighting a photograph again

The effect treats the picture as a surface and lights it from a direction you choose. Because the surface is built from the image, the light falls across its real form, not a flat wash.

Which surface

Depth lights the picture's three-dimensional form, the way the depth map describes it. Luminance lights fine surface texture from the brightness, the classic emboss look. Both combines the two, and is the default.
