Seen through a sheet

The layer beneath is bent through a relief that follows the depth, the way light bends through a sheet of glass. A frost grows on the surface, and the edges pick up a fresnel sheen and a slight chromatic split.

Four kinds of glass

Relief is the smooth, bent glass of a window seen from the side. Reeded is the ribbed glass of a bathroom door, with fine parallel grooves. Frosted is the milky, diffused glass that softens the picture without moving it. Glass Block is a grid of thick glass bricks, each one a small lens.

Every option, from the app

Generated from the registry the app publishes, so this list is whatever the current build actually ships — not a copy of it.

  • DisplacePush the pixels around with smooth noise, by an amount, a frequency, an angle and an axis.
  • Depth ZoomPush into the image in 3D, so the near things move faster than the far things.
  • DitherOrdered dithering: Bayer and blue-noise threshold masks quantised to real machine palettes — Game Boy, PICO-8, CGA, EGA, NES, C64, ZX Spectrum and more.
