A scanner that is not steady

A flatbed scanner assumes its sensor moves at a constant speed, so each line is built in the same time. Vary that speed and the picture stretches and compresses along the direction of travel, the way a hand-held scan does when the hand wanders.

Every option, from the app

Generated from the registry the app publishes, so this list is whatever the current build actually ships — not a copy of it.

  • Pixel StretchStretch the pixels into long streaks, dragged from a source line across the picture.
  • Scan GlitchA broadcast-error band that slips sideways and tears, with channel splits and noise rows.
  • DisplacePush the pixels around with smooth noise, by an amount, a frequency, an angle and an axis.
